CARE WITH CONFIDENCE
Where to Find Reliable Advice
While there’s an abundance of cat care advice available online, sorting fact from fiction can be tricky. Many seemingly trustworthy websites and social media posts often spread inaccurate or misleading content.

For reliable and current guidance on all things feline, we strongly suggest checking out the Cat Advice - International Cat Care (icatcare) and Expert Cat Care Guides Cats Protection websites.
They are outstanding resources packed with expert-backed information.
Found a Cat? Here’s What to Do
If you've come across a cat, your first stop should be Cats Protection’s advice page. Keep in mind that a cat who appears to be a stray might have a home, even if they seem underfed. Before offering food, consider checking for a microchip or trying a paper collar. These steps can help determine if the cat already belongs to someone.
Concerns About Neglect or Cruelty
If you're worried a cat is being mistreated or neglected, contact the RSPCA. In some cases, they may issue an “incident” or “log” number. These codes can help cover initial vet assessments and treatment for injured cats without known owners. If you've received one of these numbers, please share it with us.
Healthy Stray Cats
We can assist with microchip scanning and provide paper collars to help locate an owner. However, as a cat-only practice, we aren’t equipped to shelter healthy stray cats
Found a Stray Dog?
We specialize in feline care and aren't able to assist with dogs. If you've found a stray dog, contact Plymouth City Council’s Dog Warden for help.
Injured Wildlife
We’re able to provide basic first aid or humane euthanasia for small wild animals, but we can’t offer long-term hospital care. For full treatment of injured or ill wildlife, please reach out to the RSPCA.
