Dr Nikolai F. G. Athron

Nikolai grew up in Mexico and since an early age has had a passion for animals and science. In Mexico he would often spend his pocket money feeding stray animals and try to convince his mother to adopt them all. Sometimes successfully!
He moved to the UK at the age of 10 and focused that passion into a journey towards the veterinary profession. He graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007 and undertook an Intercalated degree at King’s College London.
Nikolai met his now wife, Dr Joanne Nott at Vet School, and after graduation they embarked on a decade long journey to the USA (San Diego & Seattle). After starting a family in the USA, they returned to the UK with two beautiful daughters to be closer to family in 2018.
Nikolai has interests in preventative care, surgery, and feline dentistry and in 2024 completed his General Practitioner & Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Dentistry & Oral Surgery.
In his spare time, he attempts to brush his cat’s (Makena) teeth and enjoys travel, running, spectator sports, film, cooking and contemporary art.
